Entries are still being accepted for the Thunder Dragon Rally to the famously happy Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, which starts from Kolkata (Calcutta) on November 1. Among the latest crews to sign up for this spectacular three-week adventure are Jan van Gemert and Marion Huijbregts from the Netherlands, driving a 1965 example of Ford’s classic ‘Pony Car’, the Mustang (pictured above on our 2012 Tiger Rally). Indeed as you can see from the current Thunder Dragon entry list (below) the rally has attracted a remarkable variety of cars, ranging from a 1923 Vauxhall to a 1972 Porsche, and we’ve been pleased to welcome crews from no fewer than nine countries (Australia, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, UK and USA).

The Thunder Dragon Rally has been meticulously planned as a relaxed, sociable and non-competitive event, covering 2,338km (1,453 miles) in the course of 16 driving days on thrilling roads whilst also offering unforgettable cultural and sightseeing experiences in a litttle-known land blessed with great natural beauty and abundant wildlife. There is still time to join us on this wonderful journey, but the number of cars we can take is strictly limited, so to avoid disappointment we advise you to reserve your place as soon as possible. You may download or browse the 12-page event brochure here. If you would like us to send you a hard copy along with the event regulations and an entry form, please contact us here. When requesting a brochure, please don’t forget to include your full postal address!

The Thunder Dragon Rally (1-24 November 2015) runs from Kolkata to Guwahati via Sandabans, Malda, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Chalsa, Pheuntsholing, Paro, Thimphu, Gelephu, Trongsa, Jakar, Mongar, Trashigang and Samdrup Drongha. For more details please refer to the event brochure, which may be found on the Thunder Dragon event page at www.rallyround.co.uk.
