The brochure for our exclusive and exceptionally luxurious Odyssey Italia (10-24 September 2017) is now available to read online – click here – and within hours of publication a large number of entries had already been received at the Rally Round office. First in were Jonathan Turner (pictured above) who will be co-driven by his wife Karen in a 1953 Jaguar, closely followed by Sir Gerry and Lady Joyce Acher (car TBC, possibly the 1931 Ford Tourer they drove last year in Bhutan). Coming all the way from the USA are Melvyn and Margaret Andrews in a 1956 Jaguar XK140 and Bill and Jo Brandt in a 1929 Chrysler 75 Le Mans (as seen on this year’s Paris-Vienna); from Canada we have Lloyd and Treacey Reddington in 1970 Morgan Plus 8 and from Germany we welcome Rudi and Helga Friedrichs with the 1933 Alvis Speed 20 SA they are campaigning in November’s Haka Classic. We also have a family team from Hong Kong – Martin Tacon is bringing the 1933 Aston Martin Le Mans he drove on Paris-Vienna, navigated this time by his wife or daughter (TBC), while his sister Joyce Tacon is hopping into a 1952 Jaguar XK120 to be co-driven by her niece or sister-in-law – either way we look forward to seeing more all-female cews so we can run a Coupe des Dames competition. Entries are arriving on a daily basis, so check out the website event page for the latest news – click here.
Meanwhile entries for our Paris-Prague Rally (11-17 June 2017) continue to pour in, among them Richard Cunningham with the 1933 Lagonda M45 he campaigned on our 2014 Road to Mandalay rally in Burma/Myanmar, although he’s yet to announce his co-driver. From the USA we have Peter Zimmerman (co-driver TBC) with his 1959 Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite – “Perfect for the Stelvio” – and Mitch and Wendy Gross (car TBC), whilst from Canada we are pleased to see Ivor Lammerink and Len Treeter in 1959 Mercedes-Benz 220 S. Returning from Hong Kong are brother and sister Martin and Joyce Tacon in the 1933 Aston Martin Le Mans they drove on Paris-Vienna, and from Liechtenstein/Austria we welcome back Dr Ernst Feichtinger and Kurt Schimitzek in their 1963 Porsche Carrera 2 Roadster. From Britain we have Richard Dresner and Colin Mackenzie in a 1937 Talbot 105 Tourer, Gavin and Diana Henderson (car TBC), Michael Kershaw and Liz Lomstock-Smith in a 1960 Aston Martin DB4 and Michael Eatough with his 1966 Mercedes-Benz 230S Fintail. We also have entries from Steven Collins with a Bentley 3-Litre, Martin and Olivia Hunt (car TBC) and Mark Robinson (car and co-driver TBC). You can read the Paris-Prague brochure online via our website event page, where you can also peruse the latest entries – click here.
