Mission to Mexico - Rally Round

January 2020

Panama to Mexico

A 20-day adventure, starting 50 years after the original 1970 Daily Mirror London to Mexico World Cup Rally

Rally Round is thrilled to be supporting Bron Burrell and her team’s Mission to Mexico – to complete the rally they started some 50 years ago but never got to finish.

The pioneering all-female crew, which also includes Tina Kerridge-Reynolds and Patricia Ozanne, and their trusty 1969 Austin Maxi affectionately named Puff the Magic Wagon sadly crashed out of the gruelling event in Argentina when the car ended up in a ditch. Their rally was over.

In January 2020 the plan is for that to change as over 20 days, Bron, Puff and the team will follow the original rally route as much as they are able and are inviting like-minded crews to join them on the Mission to Mexico as they aim for the finish line.

Whilst this is an adventure drive or cavalcade rather than a rally, it is still not for the faint hearted as the route is challenging and some areas have Foreign Office warnings although we will have security assistance.

The finer details of the event are being finalised but Mission to Mexico already has permission to drive right-hand drive vehicles through Nicaragua, granted by the Government and are waiting to hear about Costa Rica.

With limited entries available, those interested in joining should complete the enquiry form below.
