Rally Round is inviting novices to join the adventure with a dedicated training day for those who long to take part in an endurance rally in an exotic location – but don’t know how to get started.
Held at the beautiful Lime Wood Hotel in the heart of the New Forest on Friday 29th March 2019, this first training day organised by the Rally Round team of experts has put together specifically for novices but similar events for crews who wish to take their skills to the next level will follow.
Event Director Liz Wenman explains: “We are inundated with enquiries from people who see the pictures from our events, read the blogs, and would love to take part but then talk themselves out of it because they don’t know exactly what to expect. It’s that fear of the unknown of what each event actually entails and getting to the start line without a clue how you are going to make it to the finish that seems to stop people taking the plunge.
“The aim of this event is to give those people a taster, talking them through what we do on the events, the various roles, reading tulip maps, using way points and GPS, and how to prepare themselves as well as the car. Its not just the theory either, as we’re taking them out of the classroom and onto the roads – the best place to learn!”
With a friendly and informal feel, there will be plenty of time to ask questions – either one-to-one or in groups – and the training doesn’t stop at the end of that day. Rally Round plan to assign a ‘Rally Buddy’ for those who decide to tackle their first Rally Round event, who will offer support, advice and a sounding point from start to finish.
Liz added: “Our intention is to take the fear out of adventure rallying, so that you may enjoy the experience to the full. There’s a whole wide world out there for you to explore, whether it’s with your partner, sibling, son, daughter or best mate, and whether your ambition is to compete for a trophy or simply to visit some of the most remarkable places on earth, making new friends among like-minded people, we’re here to show you the way.”
The places on 29th March 2019 session will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis, so reserve your place now – find out how to enter here!
